A user-first approach to student accommodation
Student Roost needed more than just a website refresh, they needed a game-changer. We built a user-centred website on Craft 5 – making it faster, smarter, and more user-friendly than ever.
Our discovery phase involved in-depth research, student focus groups, and usability testing to uncover exactly what students need when searching for accommodation.

Accessibility comes first
We introduced light, calm, and dark modes. We also added Userway to ensuring the site works for all users and they can control their access settings as needed.
Immersive property tours and galleries make exploring each property effortless, giving students a clear, detailed view of each space.

With the integration of Craft 5, managing content has been dramatically improved. The new system offers a more intuitive structure that allows the team to upload and organise images, videos and rich content as they need.
With an advanced filtering system, users can refine their search based on room types, price range, amenities, contract length, and more. Plus, they can save their filters for future visits, making the journey from search to selection even smoother.

Students can now favourite their rooms and properties for their return to the website.
We also introduced a comparison tool so students have a side by side view of potential rooms and properties they’re interested in.

A categorised, searchable Help Centre means no more digging for answers. Plus, our custom-built Page Builder in Craft CMS gives the Student Roost team full control to update and manage content with ease.
Prior to launch we orchestrated a robust testing phase which included internal and team quality assurance, plus external user testing.
