When people shop for welding gear, they’ve got one goal: find the right tools fast and get on with it. But on a lot of niche sites, the checkout can be a pain, bogged down by clunky, outdated design which can make this difficult to do. Foster Industrial was in a unique position, where the website and brand had been updated over the years, however the checkout was still not aligned with this new proposition. So we got to work....
Insight & Analytics
Our initial research found that many customers were abandoning their carts due to confusing multi-step checkouts, excessive information requirements, and a lack of payment options. We began with a thorough audit of the site’s existing checkout system, drop-off rates, and technical limitations. As well as updating the checkout from a creative aspect, we also implemented key UX changes to make the user journey more efficient, with a focus on conversion.
The checkout process is now faster, easier, and way more intuitive, giving welding pros a smooth shopping experience that values their time.
This new system shows how a focused, user-first approach can elevate an e-commerce site’s functionality and drive sales. For our design team, it was all about building a hassle-free, efficient checkout tailored to the specific needs of welding professionals.
