Last week we joined a group of individuals for a charity sleepout; stepping, briefly, into a reality that far too many people face every day. For most of us, having a safe place to sleep is a given, but this experience really challenged that. It wasn’t just about fundraising; it was about facing something we often overlook and turning that awareness into meaningful action.
We signed up to the sleepout to support our long-term partners and friends at Falcon Support Services. We’ve worked alongside Falcon for many years, and our respect for who they are and what they do continues to grow.
Falcon have been committed to helping those in need across Leicestershire find independence through housing, recovery and community support for 25 years.
Hearing real-life stories from service users who've rebuilt their lives through the support from Falcon was both humbling and genuinely inspiring. Their stories highlight not just personal resilience, but the real, lasting impact organisations like Falcon have.
As a group, we raised over £25k to support people facing poverty and homelessness. These funds will directly empower charities delivering critical services on the ground.
But just as important was the awareness created. With more events like this, I hope conversations are sparked and perceptions are shifted.
