Kinect Sports Facebook App

How we did it: Application design

Developing the first generation of motion controlled games for Microsoft's new Kinect hardware Rare needed a social element to their Kinect Sports game and we were tasked with the job of designing and building a Facebook application which would allow players to create leagues for the sports and compete against their Facebook friends. The videos that Kinect Sports outputs whilst playing the game is also captured into the app and allows players to share these on their wall and also view and compare their game stats against their friends.

Working alongside the engineers at Microsoft in the U.S we got the app up and running in time for the UK launch of the game and now sees thousands of users from all over the world participating and challenging their friends in a range of sporting leagues (including some of our own Xbox fans here at Nzime!).
